From: To: Subject: Replacing Joust CMOS RAM with M48Z08 (or Dallas DS1225Y) Date: Saturday, December 05, 1998 5:38 AM I'm finally doing the Williams multi-game and am having trouble with the CMOS RAM replacement. I've checked my wiring and it seems to be OK but the machine responds as if there is NO CMOS RAM. Either I've goofed something on the wiring or the M48Z08 is dead (I purchased it 2 years ago). So, can someone check my wiring below, please? Outside is chip signals, inside is how I wired it. AS are address lines from the game selecter. A19 is the 4th address line in case I expand it from 8 games to 16. A is an address line from A0-A9 and D is a data line D0-D3. I didn't specifically match up A0 from Joust to A0 on the chip just to simplify wiring. That *SHOULD* work fine unless I try to take my non-volatile RAM to another multi-willy setup. DX is an external data signal (D4-D7). /WE is sent to /WE. /OE is pulled low (so output is always enabled). And /CS is sent to /CE. I still don't see any problems in what I've done. Anyone want to test my M48Z08 in their setup?
